I thought that Lake Wazee could use its own topic. We talk about it a lot and it has some interesting changes in conditions.

Dove Lake Wazee on Saturday. Visibility was not that good between 20 and 80 feet but open up nicely at depth. Checked out the reflective orb and got some great pictures. The fish are starting to move with bass becoming more common. The fish have not taken over the fish cribs yet.

Mostly cruised along the walls and enjoyed ourselves. It was a great day for diving. 8)

Hello!

Im wondering what the water temp was at Wazee? Im thinking about driving down there on Friday after work and doing a couple dives on Sat. morn.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

;D

The surface temperature was 53 deg F on the surface down to 48 deg F at a thermocline at about 20 feet. Below the thermocline it is 39-41 deg F. I would expect it to continue to warm. Visibility is great and you can always have a fun dive there.

For more information see:

Thanks for the info! Hopefully the sun will be out! ;D
When you say viz was great last Saturday , about how far was great??? Just nosy!!! Thinking about doing a Saturday trip down there! THanks for all the info...

I am not very good at these types of estimations, however I took some great digital pictures without artificial light at 120 feet and did not need a light to look around at the gazing ball.

The angel in the attached picture is illuminated by my HID. However the background is still very visible with no light and no digital enhancement.

I thought it was great.

Ooops that was more picture than I thought it was going to be. Hopefully the moderator can fix it.

Here is Doug's picture...

Thanks

Looks like I could use a few more guidelines on posting pictures at this site. :Smile

Doug,
Do you know the origin of the angel? Pre or post water?
