Finally getting a chance to talk about the good diving that was had at Lake Wazee during the clean-up. Did three dives on Saturday and one dive on Sunday.

As everyone knows, the bottom of lake Wazee was scoured clean, like it or not. :'( Everyone has an opinion.

I enjoyed the diving. Big Grin Great conditions at depth, plenty of fish to see in the shallows. In between was lousy.

We set up as usual, with the major mass of equipment. :Smile Note the Posiden regulator bag, the regulator of death. Can not take it apart underwater.

Doug

The conditions were great at depth. Used the reflective ball as a landmark to start the dives along the wall. Got a picture of myself reflected against the ball, I believe that is Jason behind me. The ball makes for some fun with photography. Wink

I understand that the reflective ball was removed during the clean-up. This polluting piece of man-made junk was obviously offensive to all that saw it. Lake Wazee is better off with this type of junk removed from the lake. It will cut down pollution and the fish will be happier. >Sad

Doug
Went from the deep to the shallows to spend time with the fish. Had plenty of fish to look at and enjoyed seeing how the fish are changing there habits with the fall of the year. Big Grin

Here is another offensive piece of man-made junk that was found in the lake. I believe it survived the clean-up. Notice all of the confused fish around this item. How offensive. ???

Doug
Here the fish are attacking? this offensive item. :-*

Doug
Finally, the fish population is decimated by this unnatural relic.

This person that put this here must also like cutting down trees and voted for George Bush, sick.

Doug
Found some bass in the more shallow areas where we take a safety stop. Lots of good sized smallmouth bass in the lake. Followed us around the lake all weekend. Really enjoy these guys.

Doug
Went on the "walleye run". This made for a great long (well over an hour) dive with nearly constant swimming. Really enjoed the variety of fish that you see on this swim and the quality of the trees.

I was surprised by the number of suckers that we saw. Here is one.

Doug
We did not see any of the big walleyes that we usually see on the "walleye run". Sad Did not have the visibility to get up to them. Did get into a group of medium sized walleyes. Got only one picture, but it does give a good idea of the quality of the fish and the quality of the trees on the "walleye run".

Great diving during the weekend. Everyone had fun. Good and relaxing with great sites. Looking forward to the fall diving season, anyone for the Wolf River? Jellyfish hunting in Red Granite?

Doug
Hey Doug, really enjoyed your pictures, but really loved your editorials! Big Grin
Since I never saw the gazing ball... could you tell me what it was or what it was made from?
Fred
The reflecting ball was one of those lawn ornaments that you see at some peoples houses. This is just a color ball that has a reflective surface. I think that there are better descriptions on other parts of the Lake Wazee thread and a picture that gives a good idea how it looked.

Thankfully this horrible item has been removed from the pristine confines of Lake Wazee. I hate to think of all the fish and divers that were subjected to this relic.
