Re: Wolf River
I have some video from the Sturgeon dive we did on December 13, 1998 behind the Red Rail Inn.  Same deal as the recent video.  Not edited at all, but video none the less.    Let me know when you guys are going again.  It is a 3 or so hour drive for me now, but the sturgeon are really cool.

I am looking forward to the video.  The sturgeon rock.

Re: Wolf River
Doug, Matt, and I had a great time diving with the Sturgeon today.  Water was 33F and we were in about an hour.    I have no idea how many individual Sturgeon we saw, but I would guess 30 ranging in size from 1ft to 5+ft long.  Great dive!

On a side note, we had Scubapro (MK25AF/G250HP), Apeks and Poseidon regs in the water with no issues.

Re: Wolf River
Good regulators and good divers made it a fun one.  Took a while to find the sturgeon, they were more dispersed than the last 2 times we dove here.  No ice, more current and later in the day probably were factors.  Once we were in them, it was great diving.

Had a tough time with camera, but was able to get a few good pictures.  The sturgeon were skittish enough that it was hard to be close enough for long enough time to really get a good picture.  The two pictures below give an ideal of the size of some of these animals and the strange, pre-historic appearance.

Was not able to get a picture of the Muskie that checked us out.

Also, rescued an anchor.

Re: Wolf River
A couple more pictures.  Wanted to include one of a chestnut eel.  Not my best picture, but an example.  Plenty of good diving yet to do.

Re: Wolf River
I did a quick bit of research on the Chestnut eel, and found it is indeed a Lamprey.

Re: Wolf River
I could see hitting it again next weekend.  Probably could find a fair number of tothers from the Point/Rapids area.

Re: Wolf River
I have to work both days, but have fun. The way the weather has been, it may be open for quite a while.
