a platform at 50'?  Why?  Seems like 65'  or 20' would be the depths used for training.

I'm guessing here, but...

20' is a good depth for OW classes, and 65' is a good depth for AOW classes because it qualifies as "deep" by PADI standards...I think???

Coffee hasn't kicked in yet this morning either, so I could be totally on the wrong track.

AOW students should be well beyond needing a platform to stay out of the mud.  Too bad that isn't the case a lot of times.  It is a wierd depth for a platform.

Yes, Omicron, that's what I meant.  65 for AOW.  20 for OW.  So, why 50?

This platform is right near the ledge of a wall that runs down to around 110 feet.  The 60-70 foot area is pretty much vertical with no flat areas.
