Re:Red Granite Quarry - Omicron - 02-22-2004

Had some good diving @ Red Granite quarry today. We cut a hole around the 55' depth mark and had a good tour. Made our way over to the boat around 80', and found the deep trench. EXTREMELY black in that thing - couldn't see a thing, it was like the water just swallowed up the lights. Other than that we had excellent viz - it's the first time I've seen the boat and you could see all of it and well past it. Made our way back to the shallows to take a look at the snowmobile and eventually back to the hole. It was awesome weather out there this morning, and we had really good viz for Red Granite. A good day of diving, and I got to meet another fellow WIScuba member.

Omicron,
It was good to meet you too. After you left I and two other guys did our first two ice training dives. We'll finish there next Sunday (weather permitting). We didn't see a whole lot, but it was a lot of fun to see the ice from underneath and generally good just to get a dive in. Perhaps we'll see you guys again soon.
