Re: Elkhart Lake
I've never dove Elkhart Lake.  I hear there is some good bottle diving out there.  Where are good spots to get in?  Thanks

Re: Elkhart Lake
Also, does anyone know anything about a lake called Crystal Lake near Elkhart Lake / Plymouth?  I haven't been there for years, long before I was diving and was impressed with the water clarity that I observed from the boat.  So, has anyone dived that lake?  Put in spots?

Re: Elkhart Lake

I dove Crystal Lake several years ago, and we put in at the public boat landing.  I seem to remember it was really shallow for a long way.  This would probably be a better place to free dive.

I'll  be in Plymouth tonight.  If I have time I'll check for ice on Crystal and Big Elkhart.

The ice is off Big Elkhart and Crystal Lake in Sheboygan County.

Re: Elkhart Lake
Elkhart lake dose have some deep water, see DNR map.Entry boat ramp, park in town too far to haul stuff down to beach!
Crystal Lake has some times that have no motorized boat times, early a.m. and sundays, but check= entrance by boat ramp, not bad vis see DNR top map not too deep,But look out for boats UNSAFE !!!!! 8),Diver flags can be ski runs! be safe!

Re: Elkhart Lake

Fred, I didn't mean that in a negative way.  Maybe I should have said snorkel?  I have seen Jon freedive the Willy.  I meant that it sucks to haul all of that it would suck to haul  tanks and stuff out there when an mask, fins, and snorkel would be all you need.
