Green lake
We took the boat out to Green Lake for some trimix classes last weekend, tried to go to the putin at HWY K but it was too shallow so we had to go to the landing on the Southeast end of the lake. We found a spot 100' feet off shore that started at 20' and dropped down to 180 feet, so we anchored and did a few dives there. The vis above 70' was about 15 feet but below 70 was about 8 feet. We saw lots of trout and bass, other than that mostly silty sand, a few rocks (I hear the lake used to be much lower) and some golf balls. We got to about 165 before I hit thirds and we ascended off the lift bag. My biggest complaint was the boat traffic, we kept having boats speed over the top of our divers, even though we had the universal and alpha flying!
I think someone needs to call Green Lake County and make sure they put an informational sign about dive flags at each landing (a boater education course for all Wisconsin boaters would be even better).
Anyone been anywhere really fun in Green Lake?
We're thinking about diving by the old 'dump' next time we go there.

Re:Green lake
I've wanted to try it - but never had the opportunity to make it out there.
