Lake Reports
I wonder if you divers could start posting lake conditions again of the lakes you're visiting so that others can get an idea of what current conditions are.  I'll throw a few of my latest observations out there to get it rolling:
Lake Lucerne-a usually famously clear Forest County, WI lake had vis of about 10 feet on June 25th.  Nearby Lake Metonga had much better clarity that same day... perhaps 25-28 feet.  Big Muskellunge Lake had poor visibility on 7/2 of only 15 feet with lots of suspended sediments.  Black Oak Lake, Vilas County had superb visibility better than 35 feet on 6/13.

Please post your own observations of water visibility where ever you go in the state.  I'd really appreciate it and I know if would be valuable information for others.

Re: Lake Reports
Lake Lucerne on 07/05 vis was down to 15 feet due to the rain and heavy boat traffic.  Back in April vis was nearly 35 feet.  Black Oak Lake on 07/06 had vis around 20.  Trout Lake on 07/06 had the best vis at 20-25 feet.  Two Sisters near Rhinelander on 07/03 had excellant vis considering the boat traffic at 15-20 feet.  Had a great time on Two Sisters feeding craws to a couple dozen smallies that followed us like puppies.  Lake Metonga had 10-15 feet on 07/02 but the boat traffic was a little more than we wanted to deal with so it was a one dive trip.  Wind and rain seem to be impacting the vis but anything over 15 feet was very enjoyable.

Re: Lake Reports
Planning to dive Lake Lucerne in mid August. Any suggestions on the best place to go on the lake? We won't have a boat and have never dove this area before. Also any campgrounds on or near the lake?  Will be towing a 19' camper.

Seems like all the locations that used to have reliable vis. no longer do.

Re: Lake Reports

I dove there a few years ago. There was a public boat landing on the Southeast end of the lake. Take County Road W South from Hwy 8/32 and go left on Lake Lucerne Drive. It'll be up the road a ways on your left. I don't know if they have a campground on Lake Lucerne but they do on Lake Metonga at Veterans Memorial Park. Here's a web site:
