Milwaukee Shipwrecks History Archeology Course at UW-Milwaukee
Please join us for a two part course of the shipwrecks, maritime history and underwater archeology of the Milwaukee area on Wednesday, November 3rd and November 10th at UW-Milwaukee.  This two day course will focus on the ships and shipwrecks of the Milwaukee area, with an emphasis on those that have yet to be found.  The course will discuss the reasons for the large number of area shipwrecks and will review the techniques and technologies used to locate and document our area's historic shipwrecks.

Instructor Brendon Baillod is one of the leading experts on the shipwrecks of the Milwaukee area and is the author of the book "Fathoms Deep But Not Forgotten: Wisconsin's Lost Ships" detailing every ship ever lost in southeast Wisconsin.  As president of the Wisconsin Underwater Archeology Association, Brendon has been involved in the discovery and documentation of many area shipwrecks, including the recently discovered wreck of the steamer L.R. Doty, which lies in 300 ft of water off Milwaukee.
