Underwater Connection 26th Annual Treasure Dive and Picnic!!!

For those who have not had the opportunity to attend one of our Treasure Dives in the past, here is how they work:

The Annual Treasure Dive and Picnic has been a tradition at The Underwater Connection for over . Every fall we rent the entire beach and pavilion area at a local dive site just for our event. For 2008 we will be holding the event at a NEW LOCATION.....FoxBrook Park, located in Brookfield, just behind Jack Safro Toyota on Capitol Drive.

Early the morning of the event (September 14, 2008) staff members will go out to the park and plant numbered markers underwater. The markers are never more than 25 feet deep, to make them easy to find. Each numbered marker corresponds to a prize, like regulators, BCDs, tanks, cameras, gear bags, etc. At a preannounced time, there is the shotgun start, and all the divers who registered for the event dive for these markers. Each diver is allowed only one marker or prize. If someone finds more than one marker, they are asked to give away the extra markers they have found to someone who did not find any. There is only one Underwater Connection Staff person who knows what numbered marker corresponds to each prize!

After all the markers are accounted for, we'll have our picnic lunch. If there is a Packer game scheduled, we'll bring out TVs so that you can enjoy the game as well. After lunch we award the prizes to those who have found markers.

Now, let's say a certain marker is not found......anyone who is registered for the event, and did NOT find a marker will get a raffle ticket. We'll then raffle off the prize whose marker was not found. You still have a chance of winning a prize, even if you don't find a marker. It's only fair that way. Employees of The Underwater Connection are not eligible to win any prizes.

Sign up before Sept 13th, the cost is only $10 per diver, and $5 per non-diver. If you sign up on the 14th, at the event, it will be $15 per diver, and $10 per non-diver. In addition, Waukesha County requires a dive permit for Fox Brook Park, which you can get at the park the morning of the event at check in. Also, there is a parking fee required per vehicle.

The gates will open at 10 am for check in, and once everyone is accounted for, we'll start the diving at 11 am, and prizes will be awarded at noon!

This event gets bigger every year, and it's a great way to get some dives in, as well as meet some fun people at the same time.
