The Lakeland 7/28-29
Had a great weekend up in Sturgeon Bay over the weekend. We did 3 dives on the Lakeland. Visibility was easily 60+, but dark. Bottom temp was 41, with the temp rising a couple degrees every 10 feet or so with 62 for the long 20 ft stops. Conditions were excellent. If you visit this wreck, be very cautious of all of the steel cable from down rigger balls that the fisherman have lost there.

As a side note, one of the books I have about Great Lakes wrecks indicates the depth for this wreck as 210-235ft.  I don't know how they came up with those numbers, maybe narcosis, but it is 195ft to the mud, and the deck is around 165ft.  We did 20, 25, and 35 minutes on the wreck.  The lake was flat.

Re: The Lakeland 7/28-29

Dean,
We usually dive off of the Little Alexandria.  Matt told everyone you said "Hi".  Sorry to hear about your back issues.  We were talking about the good times we've had on the Wreck-Xpress.  The Lakeland is a really great wreck, and the lake was nice and flat all weekend.  Send DMC an email, he should be able to hook you up with some video.

Re: The Lakeland 7/28-29
I have enough trouble trying to keep track of tanks, regs, and other misc. At this point a camera is just another "liability" (I say that because of my bad luck) I can't afford. My dad always say's that if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck.
The diving was great though ;D. If you DO get a link to some video, send it along. I'd like to see it.

Re: The Lakeland 7/28-29
My father-in-law and I placed a new mooring line on the Lakeland on July 4th. I shot some video on the fifth with an Amphibico housing and Sony TRV-10 that I found on Ebay. I could place a clip from my video here, if someone could explain to me how to do it???

I don't think we have streaming video capabilities.  You would have to have somebody host it with a link to the video.  I think.

I'd like to see it, perhaps you could leave a copy with Bob, or we could get together and have a beer and watch it then?
