New Heated Wetsuit

Looks kind of interesting - it's been developed for surfing, but I wonder if it could be ported over for diving use?

Re: New Heated Wetsuit
I used to have something like that about 10 years ago. It was called the "repetative dive heater" and had a battery pack connected to a waterproof heating pad. The idea was to put the heating pad in the small of your back and let it heat up any water that gathered there. Then, when you moved, it would swish the warm water around to other parts of your body. It only worked OK.

I had origianlly bought it for my drysuit, and had it hooked up into one of my DUI's at the time. There it was even less efficient. What worked out much better was buying better underwear and using argon.

For a warmer wetsuit check out a freediving suit.

BTW: the unit I had cost $400, back in 1994, and was one of the biggest waste of cash I ever got suckered into. Sad
