Madison Lakes
Anyone diving in Madison Lakes this Labor Day weekend? Wife does not dive and other dive buddy is busy. Anytime would be fine!

Re: Madison Lakes
You can join us a Devil's Lake Saturday morning, if you like.

Re: Madison Lakes
Thanks for the invite Mike, but I was thinking of something a little more on the local side.  I live in Oregon, WI and Devil's lake is nice(one dive off north beach this summer), but it is a long hike for me.
I just heard that Medota is clearing up a bit below 20 feet and was wondering if anyone had time to check it out this weekend. The shorewood entrance is a good place to start. Let me know...I have the rest of the weekend open.

Re: Madison Lakes
I dove Devil's Lake yesterday and the water was 72 degrees down to 26'. Vis was less than 10', but it was close to home and the family enjoyed the beach.

I just got the report from Jerry on yesterday's charter.  Lake Michigan was still a bit bumpy from the east wind, but they had 70' of vis and 70 degree water temps at 70'! That's my kind of diving!

Too bad I missed it.  :'(

I never seem to get the good viz.  But I'll keep trying.

The Great Lakes have been pretty good for awhile now.  Maybe you aren't diving in the right lake? ;D

Re: Madison Lakes
My last time in Lake Michigan saw temps 62 down to the Willie but only about 30 ft. viz.  The best I've experienced in L. Michigan was around 50.

Re: Madison Lakes
"only 30' of vis"

You guys should have been out there 20 years aog when 10' was a good day! Wink  Some of the divers Iknew would do all there dives on the deepr wrecks, like the Rasinco and the Grace, at Midnight since the vis was always less than 6', there was never any day light reach ing down that far,  and the water was calmer in the middle of the night.

Lake Michigan divers today get too spoiled when they complain aobut visd being less than perfect.
