Re: Straits of Mackinac - July 15th and 16th
Here's the Young's wheel back in August of 2004 - notice no green balls of slime floating....

That's kinda what I'm wondering about. IF these things are more of a July occurance, then I might tend to plan my next trip in August. Looking forward to hear what Chris sees when he goes up there in a few weeks.

George - based on my photos from last year, the vis was far worse in 2005 than in 2004. No algae tufts in 2005, but still relatively bad vis for decent photography...

August next year? Guess that means another weekend of not-divemastering. Aw shucks.  >Big Grin

As long as it's not the second weekend in August, since that is the weekend, and I got's to have my brewfest every year!

Other than that, I'm cool with you skipping out on DM duties....

I recommend the Wisconsin Microbrew festival in Chilton.  It is always the Sunday before Memorial Day.  I was at Rowland's Calumet Brewery last Saturday night and Bonita said the show will go on...I guess this is off topic, but I think it is nearly always appropriate to discuss beer.

The floating algae globs are still there.  I just got back from two days in Whitefish Pont and Two in the Straits.  I'll post more when I'm not so sleepy.
