Been to Kauai? - cam - 10-20-2008

My wife and I are planning a trip to Kauai in Febrary, 2009.  Just wondering if anyone has any reports on local dive operations, etc.

We'll be staying at the Grande Hyatt in Koloa, Kauai (south region) for about a week.  I just got my OWA about a month ago.  I'll be diving alone, my wife likes the spa more than the reefs.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Was on a cruise and could only do 2 shore dives off Koloa Landing.  Rent tanks from a local dive shop, Seasport divers is close to where you'll be.  You can have a guide take you but costs alot more.

The locals told me Kauai is best seen off a boat.

Check out some of these.  Seasport and Bubbles Below I talked to but because of our ships departure time, I could onlt do a shore dive.

Good luck and enjoy!

I go there every few years, most diving is on the south east side, but the best is on thr Niepali coast. Going in Febuary will probably put this out of reach due to winter wave conditions. Seasport is a good operation to use.
