Paul Ehorn and I located a wreck site early this morning in âdeepâ water off Port Washington Wisconsin that we believe may be the Steamer Senator.
Paul and I have been searching for the Senator since last summer. The wreck appears to be that of a large steel freighter with a length of approximately 410ft to 420ft and a beam of approximately 40ft to 50ft. Images revealed by sonar seem to suggest the vessel is upright with her bow pointed toward the North East, significant relief from her decks was also observed both fore and aft.
obviously the details a pretty hush-hush, but she apparently is lying in DEEP water off the plateau. They are planning a ROV op. to get some pix.
