went down to pearl lake in IL today. viz was 25ft in most places and temp was 49. it was the best dive i have had there, we had the place to ourselves...

It's a nice lake to dive, during the week, but they don't allow any snorkeling or freediving there.
I talked to the owner about running some freediver courses down there and he has some goofy phobia about the whole thing. It doesn't matter if your teaching a PADI course, that's covered by insurance, he doesn't want it in his lake. :
Fortunately, there are many other lakes that we can dive- that don't cost an arm and a leg to get in.
