There have been some postings about a recent trip to Mermet Spring.  One of the main attractions is the Paddlefish.  Thought I would share a few pictures of Paddlefish.

They are really cool.

There are a few other things in the water to look at.  Here is a few of them.

Here is a look at the quarry above water.  A good time was had by all.

Very nice photo's.  The first one of the Paddlefish looks like he is comming in for an attack!  Smile  What is the visibility, it looks to be pretty good.  I have never heard of Mermet Springs, where is it located?

Vis was pretty good, but there were only a few of us in the water.  I'm guessing in the summer months with many people in the water, vis is iffy.

It is in Mermet, IL.  6-8 hours south of Milwaukee.
Great Pics Doug! Can't wait until next year!
I've never heard of a paddlefish before.  Very cool looking fish.
It would be cool if the DNR would dump a few in Redgranite!  Might clear the water up, as they're plankton feeders.  ;D

Might also scare off the kids! >Big Grin
Here's some video that Alan Williams and Greg Such took with the new HD Flip cameras. Lots of fun stuff!
