Diversions Scuba is doing an adventure ice dive Feb. 24 and ice diving certification the 24-25th and chili potluck afterwords.
I'm going to be photographing a two members of my union doing a polar plunge that day.
Diversions Scuba's Ice Diver course will be conducted on Lake Monona near the Monona Terrace Convention Center. The Dane Co. Sheriff Dept. is conducting ice dives this week, and Diversions' dives will be conducted in the same hole - fewer holes reduces the hazard for other lake users.
You will need to be Ice Diver certified or taking the certification class in order to dive. Spectators are welcome.

During the Ice Diving Event, we will be taking photos for Rochelle Pennington's upcoming book. She has requested photos shot either through the ice or from underwater of folks standing on the ice.
If you happen to be in Madison, please stop by. We are particularly looking for people wearing parkas, parkas with fur-edged hoods and big furry dogs.
