Omicron

Spent the day getting a little diving in.  Here are a few photos from our dives - they show off the features of the mine a little bit better than the video captures I posted earlier.

First up, a shovelhead laying near one of our T's, and a dam in one of the tunnels

Here's a ladder heading down a dropoff in the mine - the ore vein must have gone deeper, so the miners followed it.  Also a picture of me heading down a tunnel that unfortunately ended in a dead end.

Me heading out of "the big room" following the old ore cart rail tracks.  The rail is gone, but the ties remain.  You can see on my back & legs I've picked up quite a bit of cave dandruff from percolation already.

Also a pic of heading to the entrance after a dive.

Last picture...heading in to the mine entrance.  Nothing like midwestern dive sites Smile
Nice pics Jason!

Doh...forgot to mention that Tami did the photos...my bad.

That's what I get for posting too late at night Sad

That's a really cool shot of the dam.  Any more insight as to what side of it they were digging on and what side was supposed to have deep water?  The middle picture really shows the shape of the tunnel well too.  How was vis on the way out versus the way in?  Is the ceiling getting cleaner?

Still no idea on what's going on with the dams...or if they even were dams.

The ceilings are a little cleaner, but not much.  The viz out was good, but not as good as on the way in.  What's nice is it seems to clear out pretty quick - the entrance was pretty soupy after getting in, but on the way out it was nice and clear again.
If that thing is a dam, it didn't work very well ;D

Omicron

Yah - definitely not very effective anymore Smile
